Mission Statement

Good Shepherd Catholic School's purpose is to provide a quality Catholic education which nurtures the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of each child. We strive to challenge all learners with an excellent academic foundation to realize their full potential. As a Catholic community, we empower students through the teachings of Jesus Christ to evangelize in love and service.

Philosophy

Good Shepherd Catholic School is a preschool through eighth grade school committed to serving a multicultural community within the Diocese of San Diego. We integrate Roman Catholic teachings in our ministry through education, collaboration, and service.

We recognize parents as the primary educators and provide a collaborative partnership to facilitate learning and to develop Christ-centered children. Together, the school’s administration, faculty, staff, and parents shape the morals, ethics, and attitudes of our students. We aim to model an active relationship with Christ in our works, so that by teaching, sharing, and proclaiming the Gospel, others may welcome and embrace Christ into their lives.

Good Shepherd Catholic School students receive a quality education that supports all learners through comprehensive curriculum and effective instructional strategies as they become: Faith-filled Christians, Life-long learners, Effective communicators, Responsible and conscientious citizens, and Community-minded participants.

Good Shepherd Catholic School nurtures a desire for life-long learning and prepares our students to lead productive lives serving family, Church, and the global community. Our students make a commitment to share God’s love through personal character, integrity, and honor.
